A guide to AlekSound
AlekSound is a free frequency generator provided as-is, with no subscriptions, ads, or in-app purchases.
A quick walkthrough of AlekSound's features.
AlekSound generates tones from 20–16,000 Hz, with polyphonic frequency generation and blendable Sine, Square, Sawtooth, and Triangle waveforms. It also includes pitch bending, a freeform pitch-drawing pad, and six customizable Moods.
Enter a frequency, choose one or more waveforms, and adjust the available controls. Multiple frequencies can be generated together for layered or polyphonic sounds.
The pitch-bend slider changes the active pitch in real time. The drawing pad lets you create looping pitch movements, with the stepper controlling the range.
Waveforms can also be inverted and transformed into notch filters, with noise modulation used to create evolving sound landscapes and fascinating effects.
The six quick-access buttons are your Moods — complete saved states that capture frequencies, waveform blend, pitch settings, and any drawn curve.
Design your own Moods, explore new frequencies, and build rich polyphonic Moods. Moods can be shared among users so others can experience exactly what you created.
Tap the microphone button to record a Mood as audio. You can then share the recording as a sound file, use it in a video, or simply enjoy it outside the app.
Use the folder controls to import or export complete Moods for sharing or backup.
Settings include options to reset the current setup or clear all six Moods. Resets fade the audio smoothly to avoid clicks or pops.
AlekSound is a general-purpose tone generator. Any particular use of a frequency is up to you; the app makes no medical or therapeutic claims.
